Our Board of Directors

Bill
President, Director

Bill is a life-long taker-apart of things. Whether it's held together by screws, clips, or anything but the strongest of glues, chances are he's had it open, either to fix it, to collect spare parts, or just to satisfy his curiosity. This, of course, lead him to employment fixing cars, cell phones, computers, and copiers, and ever changing hobbies including analog photography, vintage typewriters, lockpicking, & 3d printing.

Experiences attending Maker Faire and the Hackers on Planet Earth conference, along with his youngest sons creativity and enthusiasm for mechanical exploration, inspired Bill to envision a makerspace/hackerspace/community workshop and start on this quest to found MakeFixHack.
Brandon Hartshorn
Treasurer, Director

There's video evidence of Brandon, under 3 ft tall, helping his dad fix the VCR. That may have been the start to his lifelong love of taking things apart, sometimes fixing them, and other times making things from the scraps. Nowadays, his fascination with creation and repair is motivated by a deep desire for a slower, more sustainable, and more resilient society. Often idealistic to a fault, Brandon hopes to see every person empowered to repair and create their own tools and art.
Dave Terkanian
Director

Dave Terkanian hails from outer reaches of Cape Cod, where reuse, repair, and repurposing are core values. He has been an economist, an IT specialist, and a vacuum repair tech professionally. His hobbies range from musical composition, to wood working, to gardening, to organization.
Enrico Grillo
Director

Enrico Grillo is a technical generalist with a background in software and hardware implementations for the arts, specifically large-scale experiential public events, live entertainment, and cinema.
Jeremie
Secretary, Director

Ever since making his first mutant bicycle in Somerville, MA Jeremie has loved designing & creating new objects in a variety of media (metal, glass, ceramics, paper & wood). A life-long learner, he wants to bring to the Pioneer Valley the types of public Maker Spaces & Classes that he misses from his time in Boston & Chicago.

Hailing from France but raised in the city of sin (Lynn, MA) he enjoys learning languages, making stuff, hiking, gardening, cinema & absurdism.
Rachel
Director

Ever since discovering that a rolltop desk could be used as an escape route from her crib, Rachel has been on the go, seeking new experiences and following her curiosity. After completing a Masters in Sculpture at Pratt University, Rachel immersed herself in Maker culture and hands-on education, where she remains today after nearly twenty years. She loves working with students of all ages and continues to embrace all kinds of making, from welding and woodworking to sewing and laser cutting.
